With the patio slabs I'd salvaged from the back of the shed during my putting in a path project, I started work on adding some crazy paving patio in the back right corner of the garden when the tree stumps had been removed from my first leylandii removal project.
Before I started on the patio I ordered some 8ft sleeper to help frame the corner I was about to work on. Once that was in place I started to put into place the foundations for a flower bed and step up to the patio area.
This was the first time I'd done any form of brick work before. Its time consuming but really rewarding when you see the finished product.
Cause every project needs a distraction project
While waiting for a delivery of stone from MKM I got distracted on creating a pond for the garden.
Having a small veg plot it was advantageous to entice frogs into the garden to predate the slugs and snails.
More to follow on this one as it got a few upgrades.
Once the stones were delivered I used them as a hardcore base for the carzy paving. The tops of the flower bed were capped with a cement mould made from a piece of guttering to get the shape. I added bit of wire netting in these to give extra strength.
For the patio itself I placed all the pieces on the ground and rearranged the shapes until I was happy with the look and gaps between the stones. The pointing was then done to finish off the patio.
This project I enjoyed as got to learn a new skill. I'm not going to be making houses anytime soon but know I could do small wall building and repointing repair type tasks.
