The Bearded Badger Gaming

Coming Soon

A Brief History of my gaming background

I recall getting my first taste of gaming
at the age of 6 when I got an Atari 600XL computer.  This ran cartridges and tapes based cassette games and have fond memories of playing 2 player Bruce Lee with my sister Caroline (sadly she passed away in 2015).  But I have fond memories of playing games with her over the years including Half-life and the original Halo games.

In 1991 we got an Amiga for christmas the cartoon classics edition.  This came with games like Captain planet, Lemmings and the Simpsons - Bart vs the space mutants.

I got into PC gaming around the age of about 13 when my friends were all getting PC's.  We used to play Doom in the school lab after school until we overstayed our welcome one night.  I went round to my friends alot as I didn't own a PC myself till a bit later.  But again remeber the good old days of having everyone round to run a LAN party in the attic.

I've not bought a PC again since 2007 as migrated to playing on xbox.  Partly cause it was cheaper in the long run than constant PC upgrades, but also cause I was getting older and don't have the time I once had.

Nothing gets on my nerves more now than having the time to game only to find the game needs a 40gig update....

More to follow soon.
